Customer Service Questions

Do you have a retail store I can visit?
Dear LC is located in Worcester, Massachusetts and is an online store only. We do not currently have a retail location.

Do you offer custom invitation design?
Of course! If you’re interested having Dear LC create something truly custom for your wedding, please contact Lynn@DearLC.com for more information.

How far in advance should I place my order?
It’s recommended to mail your invitations 8 weeks before your wedding. To allow yourself enough time to choose the perfect invitation and approve your proofs, consider ordering your invitations 4 months prior to your wedding. For custom invitations, please contact us 6-8 months in advance.

When will I receive my order?
Once your final proof has been approved you will receive your invitations within 3-5 weeks depending on the printing process you’ve chosen. In general the production process in as follows:

  • Step 1 – Place your order
  • Step 2 – Receive your proofs (1-2 business days)
  • Step 3 – Approve your proofs (depends on customer)
  • Step 4 – Production
    • Flat Printing, 1-2 weeks
    • Letterpress Printing, 3-4 weeks
  • Step 5 – Shipping (1-10 business days)

What printing processes do you use?
All of the designs in the Wedding Collection as well as custom invitations are available in either flat or letterpress printing.

  • Flat printed products are printed on state-of-the-art digital printing process for superior print quality.
  • Letterpress products are printed on Heidelburg presses with 100% cotton, tree-free paper.

What’s the difference between flat and letterpress?
Flat printing is produced on state-of-art digital presses deliver high resolution digital color. Print-ready images are sent directly to the printer and ink appears to lay flat on the surface of soft, smooth paper.

Invented by Johannes Gutenberg letterpress is one of the hottest trends in wedding and social stationery today! Letterpress is a printing process that dates back to the mid-15th century where raised places press text and graphics luxurious cotton paper.

What are each of the Layer & Pocket Options?
It was really important to me to provide couples with a variety of options so they’d be able to build a wedding invitation that met their needs perfectly. So in addition to the traditional wedding invitation you also have the option to add an Accent Layer, Pocket Card, or Pocket Folder to your invitation.

  • Accent Layer: Adds an extra pop of color to your invitation. An Accent Layer is a colored piece of cardstock mounted on the back of your invitation creating a 1/4" border of color around the invitation.
  • Pocket Card: The Pocket Card is a cross between an Accent Layer and a Pocket Folder. The invitation is mounted to the front of the card while enclosure cards are tucked into the pocket on the back.
  • Pocket Folder: Adding a Pocket Folder is the perfect way to keep everything in its place! The Pocket Folder is a folded piece of cardstock that allows for the invitation to be mounted on the top (for vertically oriented invitations) or side (for horizontal invitations) and features a pocket below or on the right for enclosure cards. The Pocket Folder is then folded and can be wrapped with a belly band before being placed into the envelope.

How much will my invitations cost to mail?
The cost to mail your invitations will depend on how many pieces you choose. Be sure to take a final assembled invitation to your local post office and have it weighed before purchasing postage.

I didn’t order enough invitations! What do I do?
Unfortunately, once your order has been printed and shipped, you will need to place a new order in order to have additional quantities printed. It’s recommended that you order 25 extra invitations to take care of any last minute changes and account for invitations that may get lost in the mail or returned. In addition, you may want to keep a few for sentimental reasons. It also helps to cut down on costly reprints by ordering extras up front.

Do you offer rush services?
Rush processing is available for some items, unfortunately rush processing may be unavailable for more complicated orders. Please contact Info@DearLC.com if you’re in a pinch and we’ll work with you to try to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Additional fees may apply. Expedited shipping options are available.

What if I need to cancel my order?
For custom orders, the 50% initial payment required in order to begin the design process is non-refundable if you decide to cancel your order. For all other orders, once your final proof is approved, there are no refunds. If your order has not yet been approved, please contact us immediately.

Can you print my guests’ addresses on my envelopes?
Absolutely! Guest addressing services are available as well as return address printing for response cards and mailing envelopes. Addressing services should be added during the check out process. Please indicate the return address you’d like printed on your envelopes in the “Special Instructions” box during check out. If you’ll be adding guest addressing services we’ll contact you to provide the guest addressing form.

Are envelopes for the invitations included in the price?
Yes. For invitations, response cards and thank you cards, envelopes are included in the price.

I need more than 250 invitations!
Not a problem. Please contact Info@DearLC.com if you require more than 300 invitations.

Can I customize the colors on my invitation?
You bet! Colors and fonts are completely customizable on all Dear LC Wedding Collection Suites. Color and font customizations should be identified during the checkout process.

Can I get a printed proof of my invitation before you print the entire order?
In order to cut down on time and cost to you Dear LC only offers digital proofs.

Do you have lined envelopes?
Yes! Lined envelopes are a stunning accompaniment to any invitation suite. Liners are available in 3 different sizes: #7, or outer envelopes; 4Bar, or response envelopes; and A2 or thank you envelopes.

Do you sell table number cards?
“Day of” or “Reception items” are available such as table cards, programs, escort cards and save the date cards. Please contact Lynn@DearLC.com for more information.

Do you ship internationally?
At this time Dear LC is not shipping internationally.
